Call centre to handle power complaints

CURCHOREM: Power Minister Milind Naik said the government has decided to start 'Call Centre' services to solve the complaints of the consumers regarding electricity.

CURCHOREM: Power Minister Milind Naik said the government has decided to start ‘Call Centre’ services to solve the complaints of the consumers regarding electricity.
He was speaking after inaugurating the new sub-station of the electricity department (33/11KV, 2x10MVA) at Pontemoll-Curchorem in the presence of Curchorem MLA Nilesh Cabral, Curchorem Cacora Municipal Council Chairperson Patricia Fernandes, Ward Councillor Jesmine Braganza, Chief Electrical Engineer Laximan S, councillors and other officials of the Electricity department.
“The Call Centre will deal exclusively with the complaints. The Centre will also inform the complainants on the status of the complaint once it is registered with the authority,” informed Naik.
He said that this project could be a pilot project for other department depending on the success.  
Speaking on the occasion, Cabral said by commencing the new sub-station, power problems in Curchorem will be solved to a large extent. “Now, the department is in a position to release required power load to domestic and industrial firms,” he said and added that power problems were a bane to the area. 
“Spot billing facility will be provided where monthly bill will be issued to all the consumers in Curchorem,” assured Cabral.
