Consumers said, “The PWD either accepts cheques or card and those who do not possess them are asked to pay the bills at a few credit societies in Mapusa.”  The consumers claimed that these societies only accept bills of their shareholders.

Consumers complained that these societies are asking them to buy shares and only then they will accept the water bills.

“This is causing inconvenience to the consumers as it is not possible for all to buy shares. We want the government to look into the matter and initiate action”, a consumer demanded.
