BICHOLIM: About 1,184 women from Bicholim taluka were given sanction letters under the ‘Griha Aadhar’ scheme by Women and Child Development Minister Deelip Parulekar, at a function in Hirabai Zantye hall, Bicholim on Friday.
Pale MLA Dr Pramod Sawant, Mayem MLA Anant Shet, Bicholim MLA Naresh Sawal, ZP member Phondu Sawant, Bicholim BJP Block president Adv Manohar Shirodkar, Shilpa Naik and others were present at the function.
“Till Wednesday, we will sanction about 12,000 letters in different talukas and government has kept about Rs 300 crore for Griha Aadhar and Ladli Laxmi schemes. We have concentrated first in the mining-hit talukas so that people could get some relief and majority of forms are diverted to these talukas,” informed Parulekar.
Sawal appreciated the government for undertaking various schemes in a short period of time. “We independent members are supporting the government as Parrikar has not discriminated between MLAs and most schemes are made available to the general public through the MLAs,” said Sawal.
