PANJIM: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Valmiki Naik has welcomed Power Minister Nilesh Cabral for accepting the challenge for an open debate on power model in Goa and Delhi.
Cabral had on Monday said that the debate will be held on Wednesday, at EDC, at 4 pm.

Addressing the media persons on Tuesday, Naik said that it is refreshing to know that power minister has finally mustered the courage to debate with a common Goan after numerous attempts to run away from it.
“The power minister had earlier chickened out from a public debate which he himself had asked for. He did this because he knows that the Delhi model of electricity is no match to the Goa BJP model. Protocol was just an alibi,” Naik said.
Naik said that he as a common Goan accept the invite for debate and will speak on behalf of every ordinary Goenkar and be their voice to let know how AAP model of governance on electricity is for the benefit of a common man. “Though Cabral doesn’t have facts on his side. He is forced to attend the debate just to save him from further embarrassment,” he said.
AAP leader also claimed that the BJP high command is extremely furious and unhappy about the debate happening.
Only media will be allowed to cover the debate, while no other individual will be present.
