PANJIM: Karwar Independent MLA and Mallikarjun Shipping Private Limited Director Santeesh Sail, alias Satish, was quizzed on Wednesday by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) over the ongoing probe into multi-crore mining scam.
Sail deposed at around 4pm and was quizzed for nearly two hours. This was his second appearance in the case. He was last questioned on April 13.
The MLA was granted interim relief in an anticipatory bail plea he had filed hours before appearing before the SIT last month.
The MLA is being probed in connection with the case in which he is allegedly involved in illegal mining activities/exports of illicit iron ore in Goa during 2007 to 2012.
SIT officials said Sail could be summoned again but after the Karnataka Assembly polls on May 12.
