CURCHOREM/MARGAO: The newly appointed President of Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) Girish Chodankar will take charge of his job from Shantaram Naik on May 4 at 3 pm at Quaterdeck Mandovi Riveira opposite Congress house, Panjim.
According to sources besides all the Congress MLAs, MPs Milind Deora, Rajiv Satav, Deepender Hooda and Goa desk in-charge Chella Kumar will attend the function.
It may be recalled that Congress President Rahul Gandhi appointed Chodankar as GPCC chief.
Meanwhile, Chodankar on Wednesday visited the first woman president of GPCC Irene Barros at her residence at Betalbatim.
Irene, who is 88 years old today, served as GPCC president for two terms and while advising Girish to protect Goa she advised him to concentrate on the grassroots level workers who are the actual strength of the party.
Girish said his visit was to seek blessings from the elders and to acknowledge their selfless service to the party in the past.
