PERNEM: Maheshvar Parab was elected unopposed as sarpanch of the Alorna Village Panchayat. The post fell vacant after the resignation of Divya Naik following a mutual understanding. Parab, who was the lone applicant for the sarpanch’s post, was declared elected unopposed.
Deputy Sarpanch Siddhi Raul, panch members Ramchandra Parab, Shailesh Naik, Aarti Raul and Divya Naik were present at the meeting.

“Thanks to the cooperation shown by my fellow panchayat members and the MLA Pravin Arlekar, I have received this honour to become sarpanch of my village for the first time. My focus will be on developing each ward and also beautifying the historical Alorna Fort,” said Parab.
