PANJIM: The Collective members of GFA (Bardez) along with executive committee members of Bardez, Francis Viegas, Domnic Pereira, Santosh Bandodkar, Patrick D’Souza and Lavinio Rebello, Vice President GFA North Goa raised objection to the Agenda Point No 2 (Other Amendments to the Constitutions as Deemed Necessary) in the Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) notice sent by Goa Football Association.
The members, in a letter to the GFA, have said that the Agenda Point No 2 is very vague and suspicious so much so that, no such proposals for the amendments if any by any executive committee members/collective members have been tabled in the last three executive committee meetings for discussions/approval of the executive committee hence no other proposal for amendments to the constitution can be taken up in the EGM on April 22.
“The point no 2 is not within the established procedures of law and violates Article 22 (1) and Article 48 of the Statutes of GFA constitution since it was never discussed in any executive committee meetings of the GFA”, the letter further adds.
The members requested GFA to delete the above point as it was not discussed in any EGM neither any proposal of amendments annexed/attached for the EGM under Ref No. GFA/2017/18/P/1385, dated March 31, 2018.
GFA president Elvis Gomes clarified there is no issue whatsoever over the agenda pointed out by the above members.
“In today’s (April 20) executive committee meeting this issue never came up as it was clearly told that it was a mistake in the numbering of the pages in the constitution (amended 2016) which has been carried forward”, he said.
Elvis also clarified that the above letters were handed over to him after the executive committee meeting.
