A 55-year-old mason from Tivim was found dead in a pond near Ganesh temple, Tivim on Thursday night.
According to Mapusa police, Chandrakant Lohar was reported missing since Wednesday night.
Police suspect that Lohar may have drowned after accidentally falling into the pond while returning home in a drunken state.
Police sent the body for an autopsy before handing it over to relatives for final rites. PSI Mohan Naik is investigating the case.
