Woman rescued from drowning

MARGAO: A woman was rescued from drowning at Colva beach on Monday afternoon.

According to witnesses, the woman was enjoying the knee deep water when suddenly she was pulled by the strong underwater currents.  
Noticing her in trouble, a tourist rushed to her rescue and brought her to the shore.   
Simultaneously, the lifeguard on duty Nitin Gaude rushed and alerted the tower for backup. 
The woman was having a breathing problem, other lifeguards too rushed in and administered oxygen.  
A 108 ambulance was called. Since the ambulance was busy, the lifeguards shifted the victim to Hospicio hospital in their jeep. 
Later, the Hospicio, Margao doctors confirmed that the victim was out of danger. 
She was later shifted to Goa Medical College and  Hospital, Bambolim  for further medical treatment.
