Two persons suffered minor injuries due to suffocation following a fire in a store room of a starred hotel at Varca on Wednesday noon.
Assistant Fire Divisional Officer, Prakash Parab who rushed to the hotel with two fire tenders, after receiving a call, informed that the duo were suffocated while engaged in the fire fighting operation.
He said the store room storing mattress caught fire this afternoon, but was later put off by the fire personnel.
The total loss caused by the raging fire was put at Rs 3 lakh. The cause of the fire is being ascertained.
