PONDA: After a complaint to Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) over muddy and turbid water supplied from OPA Water Treatment Plant, the PWD on Wednesday directed its officials along with WRD to conduct inquiry into the matter.
After a written complaint made by Ponda local Sandeep Parkar, Goa State Pollution Control Board  official Praveen Faldesai and his team along with the complainant inspected the OPA river basin starting from Collem-Shigao to Codli and collected water samples from five places.
According to Parkar the water sample found at Shigao was clean.
It may be recalled that last week after receiving highly turbid water from OPA Treatment Plant for five days, the locals had complained about it to the PWD fearing it may cause health hazard. However, the officials had said the water was safe for drinking as it was treated.
