PANJIM: Sahil Mandrekar’s unbeaten 94 off just 64 deliveries helped Maruti Sports Club to chase down the target of 210 set by Colvalem Cricket Club, in the 37th Nanda Lolayekar Trophy, organised by Mashem Cricket Club, at Nirakar Maidan Dapot, Mashem, on Monday.
Batting first, Colvalem posted a decent total of 210 for the loss of nine wickets in the allotted 30 overs.
Manish Naik Gaokar fell short of just four runs to complete his century as he was sent back to pavilion at 96. Viraj Puranik (36) and Pratik Kholkar (25) were the other contributors.
Meanwhile, Vikram Gaitonde impressed with the ball with the figures of 3/36. Varad Dabolkar also picked three wickets giving away 41 runs while Akshay Jogale grabbed two for 17 runs.
Maruti SC raced to the target with 10 balls to spare as Sahil smashed unbeaten 94. Akhil Gaitonde scored a half century for the winning team.
Shaunak Painginkar and Manish Gaonkar picked a wicket each for Colvalem.
