PANJIM, SEPT 22
Three tourists from Rajasthan were drugged and looted of valuables and a hired motorbike by a miscreant at Caranzalem on Tuesday.
Govind Agarwal along with two others rented-out a guesthouse room at Caranzalem where they encountered Pradeep Jal of Haryana.
“The suspected accused befriended the trio and he allegedly hosted a drink-party. The Rajasthan friends were offered to drink alcohol but Jal refrained himself from drinking,” DySP Deu Benaulikar said.
Taking advantage of the drunken situation, the suspect took away their valuables and fled. When the tourists regained consciousness, they saw that their mobile handsets and the motorbike bearing registration number GA-01-T-9082, all worth Rs 62,000, were missing.
A complaint was thereafter filed with the Panjim Town Police Station. While, the suspect is still at large, the police have managed to trace the motorbike, which was abandoned at Porvorim. “We have released a sketch of the suspect as per descriptions provided to us,” said the officer.
