MARGAO: Against the backdrop of continuous confrontations between members of Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) and the Raia Panchayat, a resolution was passed on Sunday by the gram sabha to stop RG members from taking videos of the gram sabha meeting on the grounds that these videos were being used to ‘misguide the public’.
The issue arose when 3 RGP members were recording the gram sabha meeting on their mobile phones, which was objected to by the gram sabha and panchayat members, following which the RGP members were stopped.

Villagers emphasised that gram sabha meetings should instead focus on development and issues of the village that need attention.
It was also decided that no video recording should be done by anyone other than the person appointed by the Panchayat.
Water supply problems faced by locals of Curra Raia was discussed. In view of landlords objecting to the laying of a water channel through their property, a resolution was passed that the State government be approached to sort out the land acquisition process and also for setting up a water tank and providing water supply to the affected people.
