MAPUSA: St Xavier’s Higher Secondary School, Mapusa, St Anthony High School, Guirim, St Francis Xavier HSS, Siolim and DM’s Kushe HSS Assagaon reached the semi-finals of Bardez Taluka U-17 Subroto Mukherjee Football tournament for boys.
In the first quarter-final, St Anthony HS, Guirim defeated St Joseph’s High School, Arpora 4-3 via tie-breaker after both teams played out a goalless draw.
In second quarter-finals, St Francis Xavier’s Siolim defeated Little Flower of Jesus High School Calangute 2-0.
Sidhant Shirodkar and Anthony Lobo scored for Siolim.
In the third quarter-finals, St Xavier’s Mapusa defeated St Joseph High School Calangute 2-0.
Osrick Trindade and Hudson D’Mello scored the goals.
In the last match of the day, DM’s Khushe Higher Secondary School Assagaon defeated St Thomas Higher Secondary School Aldona 4-1 via tie-breaker. Both the teams were locked 1-1 during the regulation time.
Dattaraj Goanker gave lead to Assagaon team while Shane Dmello equalised for Aldona.
