The organisers of the exhibition cum sale at the BPS grounds here have moved the court challenging the order of the Margao Municipal Council stopping their business activities.
The matter came up for hearing before Civil Judge, Margao and the Judge has posted the suit for further hearing on Thursday morning.
Adv Anacleto Viegas, who is appearing for the organisers, has said the organisers of the exhibition cum sale have filed a suit against the Margao Municipal Council decision to stop the activity since Tuesday evening.
Adv Viegas said he has served a notice on the MMC Chief Officer Y B Tawde on the matter.
The MMC had on Tuesday served a notice on the organisers to stop the exhibition cum sale at the venue by 4 pm, failing which the Civic body threatened to initiate further action.
The Civic body had initiated the action following protests by the traders of the Margao New Market Association, which complained that the organisers have held the exhibition two days prior to July 27, the day when they were permitted to hold the activity for five days.
