In Ponda we often come across exposed electrical transformers at different locations. The situation turns dangerous for the lives of the pedestrians including children. In case, any person comes in contact with the live wires, they are likely to receive electric shock thereby leading to adverse consequences.
Unless proper locking system is provided for the transformers existing along the roadsides, it would be difficult to bring the existing dangerous situation under control. One such transformer is near Fire Station, at Varkhandem, Ponda. For almost five consecutive days the same has been noticed in an exposed condition. Recently, a transformer adjacent to Kurtarkar Commercial Arcade, at Kaziwada was also noticed in exposed condition.
Let us hope that the higher officials at the Ponda Electricity Department would take a note of this important matter and initiate prompt steps in providing proper locking system for the transformers. This would go a long way in assuring a permanent relief to precious human lives.
