Let’s say the present Government of Goa was the Congress today. People (especially the BJP) would have said look you voted the Cong. In and now they continue with corruption, no development, keeping the RP in abeyance, rushing to Delhi for decisions etc. Had you voted for the BJP we would have been much better off! This would be extrapolating the previous ‘achievements’ of the Congress.
Now that the BJP is in Government. We can see corruption, no development, use of the RP for builders, legalizing illegal structures all escalated to a much higher level! Looking back this extrapolation would be a lie.
All the present BJP ministers are being used by all the Central BJP Ministers: Gadkari is pushing for marinas (mind you he does not like casinos which is another Central BJP’s butter). Parrikar was supposed to get back land from the Forces but has ended up giving more land to them! The Gujarat BJP says that tourists, after visiting the beaches have nothing to do after that: so what does he want? Massage parlours, prostitution, gambling? Goa’s landmarks are being named by these Central BJP MPs. They are even being ‘used’ to promote books in Goa hailing the murderer of Mahatma Gandhi!
The present Goa BJP MLAs are being twirled round the Central BJP MPs/MLAs fingers! This is a ‘New Liberation’ going on where the entire Goa is being handed over to North India.
In the name of development they are cutting down orchards: why do they not take back land from the builders, why only from Goans? The Meta Strips Plant has closed down almost a decade ago: why can’t the new breweries come up on this land? The Goa Government has ’gifted’ land to Zuari ltd.: they have landscaping that is more than their plant footprint! Why are sick units in the Industrial Estates not being recovered and given to the new plants instead of cutting down Orchards?
People say that had the Referee of the last ISL final been someone else FC Goa would have won! (Personally I think the referee was spot on) They might have lost by a much bigger margin.
