CALANGUTE, AUG 15 Two fishermen drowned, while two others swam to safety, after their motorboat capsized near the stranded vessel River Princess at Candolim on Sunday morning.

Two fishermen drowned, while two others swam to safety, after their motorboat capsized near the stranded vessel River Princess at Candolim on Sunday morning.
According to Calangute police, Sanjay Harmalkar (29) and Sadanand Kandolkar (64), both from Tinto Vaddo, Nerul, drowned after their motor boat capsized due to heavy underwater currents near the stranded vessel River Princess.
Gopal Krishna Kandolkar (43) of Nerul and Bholaram Das, residing at Keri, swam to safety.
Police further informed that Kandolkar’s body was traced, while Harmalkar’s body is missing. The search and rescue       operations were in progress till late Sunday evening.
Police informed that the fishermen from Nerul had gone for a catch at about 4 am and when they reached Candolim near River Princess at about 8 am, their boat capsized and the four fishermen fell into the river.
“Gopal and Bholaram swam to safety, while Sadanand was almost on his way, but when he saw Sanjay struggling in waters, he rushed to his rescue, but the heavy underwater currents swept them in,” informed police.
