Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar hit out at Vedanta for handling coal at the Dolphin berth at MPT, since it will fall into the river. Amonkar says that Goa State Pollution Control Board is hand in glove with coal handling companies by extending the permission to handle coal at Dolphin till 2023, despite the CM’s assurance that coal will not be handled post-2020. Amonkar assures to raise the issue of coal pollution in the Assembly and warned of conducting a mass agitation with hundreds of people to stop coal operations in the port if action is not initiated by authorities.
