PANJIM: Goa Forward Party (GFP) president Vijai Sardesai joined candidate Santosh Kumar Sawant during the latter’s door-to-door campaign in Chorao of the Mayem constituency on Wednesday. Inspired by Sardesai’s presence a large number of youth from the area joined the Goa Forward party during the campaign.
Addressing them Sardesai said, “BJP has imported a candidate in Mayem, who is perfectly in tune with their job allotment culture. The present BJP Government has sold government jobs to the highest bidder during the current tenure. The BJP candidate has a history of having sold jobs in the past, which is probably why they chose him. After we form the Government with the Congress, we will ensure that all jobs, that have been illegally allotted or sold, will be cancelled and a fresh process will be started to ensure that no injustice is to any deserving Goenkar.”

Veteran Congresswoman and former Sarpanch of Chorao Requeta Colaco blessed Sawant in the presence of Sardesai when they visited her. She said, “Santosh deserves to be elected as MLA because he has worked for the people of Mayem even after being defeated in the last election. He is a fresh face and, in his hands, the future of Mayem will be bright.”
Anthony Noronha, another prominent citizen of Chorao also expressed confidence in Sawant’s win. He said, “The people of Chorao & Mayem have decided to back the best candidate in the fray which is none other than Santosh Kumar Sawant. People definitely do not want the BJP or the present MLA.”
Sardesai later addressing voters of Mayem, “Mayem has seen no development over the last 10-15 years because just two families have represented you, and because of whom, you have lost two decades of development. We need to elect clean candidates. If you vote for Santosh, I am sure you will not regret it”
