VASCO: The GIPARD training programme on the People’s Plan Campaign 2021 for participatory Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) was held in the Nagoa Panchayat Hall for 10 panchayats of Mormugao taluka.
GOACAN convenor, Roland Martins said state resource person Dr Sachin Tendulkar introduced the People’s Plan Campaign (PPC) to the participants and covered 29 sectors in the XI Schedule and the Indian initiatives of UN-SDGs 2030.
He spoke about the Finance Resource Envelope, the areas for improvement keeping in mind the earlier experiences in preparing the GPDP and the unused funds of the 14th Finance Commission.
GIPARD faculty Ashwini Padiyar explained the PPC timeline, the preparation of the agenda & report of the gram sabhas and the importance of the Public Information Boards.
She stressed on the responsibilities of the sarpanch, panchayat secretary, VDC convenor and self help groups.
District Manager South DRDA Shubham Shet spoke on the need to integrate the Village Poverty Reduction Plan (VPRP) into the GPDP and explained the various stages of preparation of the plan and the role of the self help groups in this process.
