With lack of speed-breakers and adequate traffic signboards, motorists have been proceeding with full speed in opposite directions, thereby raising the possibility of a mishap sooner or later. Road at this sharp turn has been damaged at the extreme side and two-wheeler riders face great risk and danger. Bushes that have been growing are not cleared at the appropriate time and hence visibility to the motorists is being affected to a great extent.
A signboard installed by the Traffic Cell of Goa Police with the instruction ‘DEAD SLOW’ some years back is missing from the scene. An alternate signboard has not been installed as yet. One fails to understand as to why this particular matter do not receive favourable attention from the concerned competent authorities. On previous occasions some mishaps have occurred here. Still precautionary measures at this dangerous turn have been lacking for quite long. In the interests of travellers and pedestrians, it would be worth to initiate immediate favourable steps so that safety is assured to innocent travellers on a permanent basis. I hope prompt action in public interest would follow soon before any serious accident occurs at this critical location.
