MARGAO: A splendid hat-trick by striker Lionel Pereira guided St Joseph Educational Institute, Chandor to crush Our Lady of Snows High School, Raia 4-1 to win the Salcete Taluka under-17 boy’s inter-school football tournament, at Manora ground, Raia, Monday. There was no score at half time.
After a barren first half, St Joseph were a transformed side as their forwards showed urgency. Lionel broke the deadlock and went on to register his hat-trick while Darren Fernandes was the other scorer for the winners. Rolland Vaz scored the consolation.
