Filing of nominations yet to pick up

PANJIM: Lok Sabha candidates will start filing nominations from March 21 beginning with Communist Party of India North Goa candidate Adv Suhaas Naik, followed by South candidate Raju Mangueshkar on March 22.

No nominations filed on second consecutive day

PANJIM: Lok Sabha candidates will start filing nominations from March 21 beginning with Communist Party of India North Goa candidate Adv Suhaas Naik, followed by South candidate Raju Mangueshkar on March 22. 
On the second consecutive day no nominations were filed before both the North and South Goa district returning officers in the state for the Lok Sabha polls, scheduled on April 12. 
The process of filing nominations for the polls commenced on March 19.
The main political parties – BJP and Congress candidates have announced that they would file their nominations next week. Both Congress candidates Ravi Naik (North) and Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco (South) will file nominations on March 24. BJP North Goa LS candidate Sripad Naik will file his nomination on March 24, while Narendra Sawaikar who is contesting from the South will file his papers on March 25. 
Aam Admi Party (AAP) candidates Dattaram Desai and Swati Kerkar have ticked March 24 and March 25 for filing nominations. 
President of Goa Democratic Front and North Goa candidate Dayanand Narvekar is expected to file his nomination on Monday March 24.
Candidates have six more days to file their papers, with March 26 being the last day. Nominations will be scrutinized on March 27 and the last day for withdrawal is March 29.
