PANJIM: Mushtifund Aryaan Higher Secondary School, Cujira has achieved a commendable success as their 18 candidates have cracked the JEE Advance for admission to IITs. With the highest, All India Rank (AIR) of 491, Naivedya Amarnani, wants to pursue Mathematics in computing from Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) Kanpur. 

Director of Mushtifund Aryaan Higher Secondary School Vyankatesh Prabhudesai said that four of its students -- Naivedya, Jaiprakash Gurav (1207), Deep Desai (1372) and Laxman Desai (1448) have been ranked in the first 1500 which is a record for Goa since 1993. 

“The previous best was from Aryaans in 2008 and 2012 when we had four ranks in the first 1600,” Prabhudesai said. 

Prabhudesai said that all the 18 students, who have cracked JEE Advance are eligible for admissions in any IITs. “Around 25,000 students answered the exam and I am very happy with the record results,” he added. 

While Naivedya, who is also the Goa Board topper for the school with over 95 per cent marks, wants to go for IIT Kanpur along with his brother Nivedan (4026 rank), Jaiprakash, the JEE (Main) topper from Goa is yet to take a call. Jaiprakash, who secured All India Rank of 72 in the AIIMS examination, is a bit upset as he could not get into AIIMS Delhi. 

“I wanted to go to AIIMS Delhi but I fell short. I don’t want to try in any other AIIMS. So I may go for IIT Bombay,” said Jaiprakash, who is also a NEET topper from the school with a score of 645 out of 720.  

Deep Desai, on the other hand, wants to go for science and hence seeks admission in Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore. Meanwhile, Laxman Desai is looking for either IIT Bombay or IIT Delhi. 

Navideya has also topped in the BITSAT with a score of 426 out of 450. Deep being is the second with 425, while Jaiprakash ranked third with a score of 406.
