CURCHOREM: Retd Bombay High Court Judge Justice U V Bakre said inequality between workers from organised and unorganised sector should be abolished.

He was speaking after inaugurating the daylong awareness programme on the NALSA( legal services to the workers in the unorganized sector) scheme at Ravindra Bhavan hall, Curchorem, on Saturday.

The programme was organised by the Goa State Legal Services Authority, Panjim in association with District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), South Goa, Margao and Taluka Legal Services Committee, Quepem and Sanguem.

Advocate General of Goa State Saresh Lotliker, Secretary DLSA Bosco Roberts and the members of the Quepem and Sanguem Bar Association were present.

Speaking further he said, "Workers from unorganised sector do not enjoy the benefits like those from organized sector. The workers in organized sector are governed by labour laws and enjoy the support of labour unions and therefore the need of the hour is to remove the inequality between them."

Advocate General Saresh Lotlikar said, “The State governments have failed miserably to implement the schemes effectively formulated by the Central government for the workers in unorganized sector. Central government is sending crores of rupees to the States to implement the schemes for the welfare of the workers from unorganised sector but instead of spending it within time limit they return the amount back to Centre".

Earlier, Principal District and Sessions Judge and chairman of South Goa District Legal Services Authority Justice Desmond D’Costa welcomed the gathering and Adv Vallabh Dessai compared. TLSC Chairperson, Sanguem Justice Artikumari Naik proposed vote of thanks.
