PANJIM: Following a series of arrests of the people allegedly affiliated to certain extremist organisations in connection with murders of several rationalists, Congress in Goa has urged Governor Dr Mridula Sinha to take action on ‘sanatani’ groups operating here.

Congress president Girish Chodankar on Friday met the Governor and demanded that action needs to be taken against the ‘sanatani’ organisations operating in Goa that are involved in various crimes.

“I have brought to the notice of the Governor that investigating agencies are arresting people connected with propagators of ‘sanatani’ organisations for killing of progressive thinkers and writers. Hence, it is time that we act against such organisations to prevent any further killings,” he said.
