VALPOI: The sarpanchas in Valpoi constituency have been assured by their MLA that all who suffered loss due to flooding would get compensation from the government.

Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane made the assurance at a disaster management meeting held at Valpoi, on Saturday.

Besides the sarpanchas, the meeting was also attended by North Goa Collector R Menaka, Sattari Mamlatdar and other government officials.

“Next week, we will compile a report of losses suffered by the people due to flooding. Later, the mamlatdar will hold a meeting of talathis, sarpanchas and panchs to evaluate the report,” Rane said. 

“There is no need to worry. All the flood affected people will get compensation on time. The Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has assured us that as soon the report is submitted, the compensation will be released,” the local MLA said.

Later, the health minister visited the villages were trees had collapsed on houses. He assured the affected house owners that he would repair their houses and provide them the financial help.
