All results by 2 pm on March 11, promise election officials

Special camps at taluka levels organised for ROs on postal ballots

PANJIM: The results of all the 40 constituencies of the Goa Legislative Assembly are likely to be out within six hours on March 11, with counting at separate centres in both districts. 

The North and South District Collectors have worked out a detailed strategy for the counting of votes, which will be held at Bal Bhavan in Panjim and New Government College of Arts and Commerce at Borda in Margao.

“The first result is expected to be announced by 10 am. The entire counting process would be over in six hours,” a senior official said, adding that all the results are expected to be announced by 2 pm. 

The process to count the votes will begin at 8 am on March 11. The Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) that have the fate of candidates sealed in them are stored in strong rooms in the respective districts.

Goa saw a four-cornered fight between BJP, Congress, AAP and the MGP-led alliance. There were 251 candidates in the fray and the polling, saw record turnout of 82 percent voters.
