Arrested girls’ father was earlier booked in criminal cases
MAPUSA: The Mapusa police has stated that Santosh Naik, the father of Yogita and Chaitali Naik, the two girls who were arrested on charges of dealing in drugs on Tuesday, was earlier booked under Sections 324, 506(ii), 451, 427 and 336 of IPC.

Mapusa PI Tushar Lotlikar said, “The name of Santosh Naik is not in the list of history-sheeters now since he is not found active in any crime since last five years.”
Meanwhile, ANC conducted search in a public toilet at Morod, Mapusa on Tuesday night but found no drugs. The search was conducted following a tip-off that Santosh Naik had hidden some substance at that location.
