BJP, Cong bankrupt of leadership: AAP

PANJIM: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday hit out at Congress and BJP for relying on outside leaders to run their affairs, making it clear that there was complete bankruptcy of leadership among them.

AAP general secretary Pradeep Padgaonkar said their party was called a party of outsiders by these same people. “We are proud to function under our local leader Elvis Gomes without any sort of influence from any outsider, whereas these political parties with so many ‘incompetent’ leaders were lost at sea without any mutual trust amongst them,” he said.

It has now surfaced that there is a group of minority MLAs within the BJP who are not comfortable in the party without Parrikar, he said. “This shows that there is no agenda of governance at all and it is only a time pass government,” Padgaonkar added.

Gomes termed the impasse in the governance as an outcome of incompetency of all others vis-a-vis Parrikar. He said that Goa was only witnessing crises, whether mining, PDAs, taxi operations, MPT threats of expansion, doubling of railway track, change of highway alignments, creation of new cities on Kadamba and Dabolim plateaus as second homes to the outsiders and corruption.

Deviating from accusing the government from its failures, Gomes welcomed the NOC by the TCP Department for sale of agricultural and orchard land provided the intention was clean to protect the interest of locals. He, however, said was necessary to prescribe a fixed time limit to grant the NOC without causing any harassment to the public.
