PANJIM: The BJP held its legislative party meeting after a long time in the presence of party’s state president Vinay Tendulkar.

After chairing the meeting Tendulkar said that the “CM is recovering now. He will take rest for two days before meeting the party office bearers and government officers,” Tendulkar said.

When asked about leadership change, he shot back “why do you need leadership change? CM is for five years.”

Parrikar, 62, who has been ailing from pancreatic cancer was flown in a special flight on Sunday from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). He is currently recuperating in a make-shift medical facility set up at his private residence by team of doctors from Goa Medical College and Hospital.

Tendulkar said that during the BJP legislative party meeting on Monday, it was decided that the ministers will meet the voters at least once a week.

“They will also tour in the assembly constituencies where BJP has no representation in the House,” he said.

The meeting was attended by Alina Saldanha, Rajesh Patnekar, Michael Lobo, Pramod Sawant, Vishwajit Rane, Mauvin Godinho, Nilesh Cabral besides BJP general secretary Sadanand Shet Tanawade and Sunil Desai.

Parrikar had Friday met Goa BJP's core committee members and ministers from the coalition partners at AIIMS to discuss ways to ensure his government functions normally during his absence from office due to ill health.

Leaders of the ruling BJP and its allies, who met Parrikar separately, had ruled out any change in leadership in the coastal state.
