MARGAO: A male buffalo has been frequenting the paddy fields at Uddo in Raia and Digoi in Rachol. It has not only messed up with the ripe crop but has also been attacking the farm workers.

The local farmers' Association, in a complaint to the Local Panchayat, District Collector, Police and other officials, mentioned that the animal belongs to one Jack Santano Sequeira from Maina Curtorim, however, the person has denied it. Local resident Sandra Noronha said, "We have tried to drive away the buffalo but in turn, the animal turns more aggressive and keeps coming back with a revenge it seems," said Sandra.

A farmer recently estimated a loss of Rs 7000  due to the beast's antics. The farmers claimed that their plea to the authorities have failed to evoke any response.

However, all eyes are on a person, who has assured to bring the animal under control on Friday.
