CM assures to clear pending Griha Aadhar applications

Warns bogus beneficiaries that the entire amount disbursed to them so far would be recovered

PANJIM: Assuring to clear the pending applications for Griha Aadhar scheme, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant has warned bogus beneficiaries that the entire amount disbursed to them so far would be recovered.

Addressing the reporters after the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Sawant said that the government has found around 17,000 beneficiaries have become invalid due to the increase in their income.

“We have come to understand there are bogus beneficiaries who are also government servants or family member is a government servant; if that is so, then, they become ineligible,” Sawant said.

Hence, he said, “I request the beneficiaries to come forward and inform the department. If we find it out then the entire amount will be recovered.” 

Sawant assured to start clearing pending applications for Griha Aadhar scheme after conducting the review the flagship scheme. Over 5,000 applications of the pending 22,000 will be cleared by January. 

Remaining applications will be cleared by April 2020, he said.
