CO told to remove overhead cables in Curchorem

CURCHOREM:  The Director of Municipal Administration (DMA) R Menaka, IAS directed the Chief Officer of Curchorem-Cacora Municipal Council (CCMC) to remove all overhead cables in the Curchorem at the earliest by taking all stakeholders into confidence.

The Director of Municipal Administration issued the direction during her visit to review all the ongoing work/projects undertaken by the Curchorem-Cacora Municipal Council under the State and Central government schemes.

The Director of Municipal Administration described the visit as routine to take the stock of the ongoing projects of the Curchorem-Cacora Municipal Council undertaken by GSUDA under the schemes of State and Central governments. 

"I came here to review the activities undertaken by Curchorem-Cacora Municipal Council and GSUDA besides progress of garbage collection under Swachh Bharat programme and also to interact with the local self help groups, which are formed under Goa State Urban Livelihood Mission (GSULM) to know about their activities and if they required any further assistance from the mission," the Director of Municipal Administration  said.

Chief Project Officer of Goa State Urban Development Agency (GSUDA) Jagdish Hosmani, Assistant Project Officer Sandesh Sail, Curchorem-Cacora Municipal Council Chief Officer Kapil Phadte, Municipal Engineer Deepak Dessai, JEs Diptesh Dessai and Sanju Dessai and Community Organiser Sulaksha Sardesai were present. 

"I had my prior engagements so I could not attend the meeting," said Curchorem-Cacora Municipal Council chairperson Felix Fernandes.
