Cabinet paves way for IT Park

Resolves to transfer land at Chimbel from Health Dept to IT dept

PANJIM: The State cabinet on Wednesday paved the way for setting up of an IT Park at Chimbel after the formal transfer of land that had been identified for Health Department to Department of Information Technology.

Department of Information Technology intends to develop an Information Technology (IT) enabled Services (ITeS) Park at Chimbel and had identified property in the village measuring 4,54,025 sq mt belonging to Health Department.

Part of the property measuring 2,69,890 has already been transferred to IT Department in March 2016.  

The cabinet proposal to the effect states, “The council of ministers resolve to transfer the remaining land admeasuring 1,79,735 sq mt being surveyed under nos. 40/1 (part) 40/3 (part) of village Chimbel, Tiswadi taluka belonging to the Directorate of Health Services to Department of Information Technology for setting up of IT Park.”

It further states, “As per rule 279 (2) of GFR, 2005 the transfer of land from one department of the government (as defined in rule 278) to another shall be on no profit no loss basis and that the land will be transferred by way of book adjustment.”

The Cabinet also transferred 500 sqmt belonging to Agriculture Department at Pernem to Department of Tourism for a crematorium.
