CURCHOREM: The Independence Day function was organised at Sports complex at Borimol, Quepem on Wednesday wherein Curchorem MLA Nilesh Cabral unfurled the national flag in the presence of Quepem Deputy Collector Rohit Kadam, Mamletdar Prataprao Gaonkar, Quepem RTO Director Sandeep Desai, DySP Uttam Raut Desai and other dignitaries.

Various cultural programmes were organised on the occasion including patriotic singing completion and inter department tug of war competition.

Holy Cross Institute, Quepem begged the first place while Sarvodaya Educational Society’s High School, Curchorem begged the second place in patriotic singing competition and in the tug of war competition teachers from Sarvodaya HS, Curchorem and Holy Cross HS, Quepem clinched the first and second places, respectively in the lady’s category and in the gent’s category, staff of Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs and Sarvodaya HS, Curchorem got the first and second place, respectively.
