CANACONA: In an accident reported early Saturday morning, an Innova car veered out of control at Gulem and hit an electric pole. However, the driver escaped with minor injuries. 

Canacona police said that they received a distress call early morning on Saturday from a Gulem local that an Innova car had met with a self accident at Gulem on NH 66 in Canacona.

Police informed that the car driven by one Satyendra Kumar, a resident of Calvaddo in Varca, lost control and veered off the road thereby dashing against a cement electric pole. The impact was such that the pole hit by the car and another subsequent pole broke in the middle. However the drive escaped with minor injuries.

In another accident reported on Karmalghat, a Tata tipper truck carrying mud went off the road while ascending the slope, however the driver escaped unhurt.
