MARGAO: Two unidentified men broke into a mobile shop in Borda and burgled mobiles and cash worth over Rs 9 lakh.

The incident was reported on Saturday morning wherein the burglars got their hands on several high-end smart phones with a price range of Rs 15,000 to 30,000 and also cash amounting to over Rs 9 lakh.

According to the police, the culprits bent the shutter door of the shop and broken in through the main entrance. The shop owner of Kamakshi Digital has filed a complaint and according to him at least 48 mobile phones each worth Rs 15,000 to 30,000 and cash of Rs 1,40,000 was burgled.

The incident was noticed when on Saturday morning staff came to open the shop and found the locks of the shutter door broken and shutter too damaged.

The CCTV Cameras have captured clear footage of the shop being burgled and are also noticed of having worn burqa’s on them.

However, it is disturbing to know that the burglar happened between 5.30 am and 6.30 am and no passerby or people going for walking and jogging noticed the crime. A case under section 379 of IPC has been registered and the police are investigating the matter.

The police suspect the involvement of the gangs like the one arrested earlier before attempting robbery.
