MARGAO: The Colva Panch and his son who were accused of trespass and robbery have refuted the allegations and have said that this is an attempt to malign their image. 

Meanwhile the owner said that he stands by his Police complaint and that he has all the permissions to do the work in his property. 

Panch Francis Cardozo said, “This is an allegation made against me to spoil my image and is completely false.”

“Since the property is closed on all four sides I had indeed directed my son and one more person on May 30, 2017 to take photos so as to provide evidence to my complaint regarding the work,” Cardozo said. 

“The GCZMA has issued a revocation of permission order for this site after the Colva Civic Forum complained of violation in the property,” told Cardozo while alleging that the permissions issued were for repairs and not reconstruction. 

Meanwhile, Colva Civic Forum member Judith Almeida refuted all the allegations made against her in the complaint. She said that there is a CRZ violation case against the said party. “The new Goa Coastal Zone Management Board inspected the site and gave permission for reconstruction earlier in March which I complained and got a stay on,” Judith said. She also clarified that she has no connection with the incident that happened on May 30. 

Meanwhile, in a press release issued on Friday, the owner of the property Caeser Vaz said, “The two men who entered my property and took photos produced no permission or authority to inspect or take photos of the property. As far as sand dune cutting and other allegations are concerned I’m willing for a re-inspection by authorities anytime and also willing to produce all documents showing the house reconstructed existed since 1991.” 

Questioning the conduct of the duo, who he has complained against, Vaz asked, “Which government official conducts inspection at 8 am in the morning?”
