PANJIM: Congress Panjim candidate Girish Chodankar will release his by-election manifesto, with a focus on shifting the offshore casinos vessels out of River Mandovi on Thursday. 

Chodankar, who launched his election campaign over a week back, has claimed to have covered 75 percent of the constituency. 

Shifting of offshore casino vessels, traffic management plan, solution to garbage crisis, beautification and cleanliness of St Inez creek, are likely to be the highlights of the manifesto. 

Congress North Goa district committee president Amarnath Panjikar that Chodankar has laid emphasis on door-to-door campaign rather than holding corner meetings. “Chodankar is not from Panjim and hence he wanted to personally meet each and every voter and introduce himself,” he said. 

On Wednesday, Chodankar campaigned in Miramar and parts of St Inez. Some of the areas yet to be covered include Altinho, Boca-de-Vaca and near Mahalaxmi temple. “I would like to announce that if elected, I will shift my base to Panjim and will work from my newly-inaugurated office,” Chodankar told the voters.

AICC secretary and Goa desk in charge Dr Chellakumar, State party president Shantaram Naik, Leader of the Opposition Chandrakant Kavlekar, MLAs Alexio Reginaldo Lourenco, Luizinho Faleiro, Dayanand Sopte, Nilkant Halankar have campaigned with Chodankar.
