PANJIM: The Mahila Congress members demanded the arrest of Sadhvi Saraswati of Madhya Pradesh for her remarks against beef-eaters, in Goa and closure of right wing Hindu outfit Sanatan Saunstha located at Ramnathi.

The protestors burnt photos of the Sadhavi, who while participating in All India Hindu convention in Goa, last week had said that she would ask the Centre to order the hanging of those eating beef.

Congress Mahila members accused the Sadhvi and right wing Hindu outfits of trying to create communal disharmony in the State in the name of religion. They said that no one can dictate or interfere in the eating habits of anyone. They urged Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar to immediately file FIR against Sadhavi and arrest her.

Meanwhile, BJP MLA Glen Ticlo has sought a ban on the Sadhvi on lines with action against Pramod Muthalik and Sri Ram Sene in Goa.

Condemning her statement, he demanded that the Goa government take strict action against her.

“We have requested Chief Minister to take action against such people and organisations, and we are certain he will take steps,” he said in reply to a question on the sidelines of the launch of Modi Fest video at BJP headquarters on Friday.
