MARGAO: The Mahila Congress has mocked at the BJP Mahila Morcha for taking up the issue of Padmavati movie with the chief minister and advised the latter to learn from them as to how to raise an issue.

Addressing a press conference, Congress Mahila President Pratima Coutinho said, “The BJP Mahila Morcha went to the chief minister demanding that the screening of Padmavati be banned in Goa. If it is banned it will be an act of curtailing the freedom of art and creativity.”

“It looks like BJP Mahila morcha doesn’t have any other issue to take up. The BJP Mahila Morcha did not go to their chief minister when so many issues pertaining to women happened,” Coutinho pointed out.

“They don’t do their homework well. My advice to them is to come to Congress and learn from us,” Pratima said.

Mahila Congress member Savitri Kavlekar said, “The issue is related to Rajasthan and there is no need to ban the movie in Goa.”

Meanwhile, Coutinho informed that six women have been called to Delhi on December 12 for a training programme on dealing with social media team.
