PANJIM: Directorate of Education (DoE) on Monday suspended watchman Prashant Naik from Government High School-Balli for misbehaving with students.

Naik was arrested by Cuncolim police on charges of outraging the modesty of school girls and has been booked under Sections 354 and 509 of PIC and Goa Childrens Act.

“The head of department in exercise of powers enforced by sub rule (1) of Rule 10 of the Central Civil services Rules, 1968, hereby places Prashant Naik under suspension with immediate effect,” reads the order

Naik will have to report to the DoE, Porvorim while on suspension. Disciplinary proceedings are also being carried out by Education Department against Naik who is a resident of Quepem.
