Dudhsagar waterfall reopens

PANJIM: As the tourism season has kick started, the State’s famous Dudhsagar water fall is thrown open for visitors from Friday, restricting the number of trips to 225 per day. 

The waterfall, the entry for which was closed during the four month long monsoon season, attracts a huge number of tourists both foreign as well as domestic every year. 

The State Forest department on Friday announced that the Dudhsagar tourist circuit is open for visitors with the entry timings restricted between 8.30 am to 4.00pm in batches of 30 at hourly time intervals. 

The total number of trips per day shall be limited to 225 and that the entry to the fall from Railway track is banned. Only the jeeps registered with the department will make trips in the circuit. There are over 440 jeep operators registered. 

Department has banned entry of private vehicles including two-wheelers in the circuit. “All visitors are requested to take life jackets available on hire while undertaking the visit. Entering the fall without life jackets is prohibited,” the department notice said.
