MARGAO: Frustration among Fatorda Block Congress members are rising after the recent development of Congress nod for a tie up of sorts with Goa Forward Party for the 2017 assembly elections.

The Fatorda Block Congress has called the tie-up as a move by Goa Forward mentor Vijai Sardesai “out of fear of losing his seat.”

The Block is now hell bent on contesting under the leadership of Joseph Silva, irrespective what the formal decision of the party may be.

Fatorda Block member Avinash Tavares said, “Till any notice comes from the AICC, we can’t comment. However, we will completely back and work for Joseph Silva. The block went by what was instructed and if they felt there was some one better they should have instructed us.”

“It’s all Brahmins in Goa and Goan parties. Where is the equality?” asked Avinash and decried the “Injustice against the over 50% Scheduled tribe people from Fatorda, if the Congress does go ahead with Goa Forward tie-up.”

Taking a dig at a National leader, Avinash said, “The GPCC president had made his stand clear that he doesn’t want an alliance. But every time a central leader comes here, there would be a flip-flop. I don’t understand what political compulsion or games were played for this tie-up.”

“Whoever has proposed this tie-up owes an explanation on why a person whose assets have jumped five times is made a partner here, and will also have to check if someone has got that money from this jump,” Avinash hinted.

Taking a dig at Vijai for calling Fatorda BJP as B Team of Congress, Avinash said, “He has not got a stay order on ODP and IPB, I have got it. If he has done something better to stop the corruption of BJP other then shouting on streets, then, he should let us know.”

Block President of Fatorda Joseph Silva said, “The movement of Vijai is to save himself. He is in to saving himself and no one else. He is greedy and scared.”

He further said, “He has spoken so much against the Congress but still ran to Delhi to save his seat. I will never give up and still contest.”
