Fire Services training in disaster management

PANJIM: Goa State Fire Force Training Centre has begun disaster response training for the State Disaster Response Force, a team that comprises Goa Police, home guards and civil defence personnel at its campus in St Inez.

PANJIM: Goa State Fire Force Training Centre has begun disaster response training for the State Disaster Response Force, a team that comprises Goa Police, home guards and civil defence personnel at its campus in St Inez. 

Director of the Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services said that 181 personnel will complete their training by March 2018 even as two batches of 20 people each have so far been trained in urban search and rescue (USAR), medical first respondent (MFR) and fire fighting. 

“The training centre has been a knowledge sharing institution and instrumental in training fire fighters from other states such as Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar fire services in the disaster response training,” he said.
