Four charged with hurting a woman

PANJIM: The women police station have registered a case against four women for allegedly threatening and physically hurting a lady. The FIR against Poonam Pilarnkar, Sonia Pilarnkar, Jayashri Naik and an unknown lady, all residents of Britona was registered based on a complaint filed by another woman.

PANJIM: The women police station have registered a case against four women for allegedly threatening and physically hurting a lady. The FIR against Poonam Pilarnkar, Sonia Pilarnkar, Jayashri Naik and an unknown lady, all residents of Britona was registered based on a complaint filed by another woman. 

The complaint, filed on February 17, has accused the foursome of stopping the complainant when she was enroute to her work place after dropping her child at a school in Porvorim.

 “The incident happened on February 3, 2017 at 8.05 am when I was on my scooter. They came, stopped me, abused me and removed my scarf. They also assaulted me. One of them recorded the video and it is circulated all over on Whatsapp and Facebook,” the complaint states. 

Police Inspector Sudiksha Naik who is investigating the case has registered an offence under sections 341 (wrongful restrain), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 323 (causing hurt) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
